Since I started working at the VW dealer, my love for the CC has resurged. Considering that GTIs and GLIs take 5+ years to drop under 20k on the used market (whereas the CC hangs out around 19k), and the CC is equipped closely to the Autobahn packages to begin with, not a bad alternative. Plus they're damn purty!

Best looking VW on sale right now IMO. I especially like the R-Line

Proved to me that VW could still make a stylish car. Also, when it was released it seemed to be a MB impersonator for less money. Overall, I like it.

They're okay.. their biggest problem is this is in the same category and price range (in my country at least)

It looks nice, but I don't get the point. Sedans don't excite me in general, but why would I get this instead of an A4, 3 series, Impala, Charger, 300...

A4, 3-series - interior room
Impala - wait, seriously?
Charger, 300 - interior quality, not everyone needs a V8.
After driving a Passat for an extended period, my opinion of VW has gone up quite a bit lately. I drove a CC a few weeks later, and was equally impressed. It's all about priorities. Not everyone's are the same.

I admit I was a little dismissive there, I apologize. The new Impala is leaps and bounds ahead of its predecessor. That being said, it's just not something that would interest me.
I look at the CC/A4/3-series/Impala/Charger comparison the same way as my next new car purchase; I'm planning on a new STI. I own an older one, and I like what they are and what they do. I would likely mod it a bit, so for the money I would spend on my STI plus mods, I could easily afford a new SS sedan. I have seriously considered it; I went so far as to create extremely detailed spreadsheets about purchase price and cost of ownership to compare the two.
When it comes down to it (having driven the SS) the SS leaves me feeling a little underwhelmed. That's kind of the same way I feel about the Impala compared to the CC and the other cars you mentioned.
I'm not sure there are many who would cross-shop an SS and STI, but I'm sure there are people who would see a lot more value in owning the SS. I'm just not that guy.

They're damn sexy and manual!
But if you get a new one over a new GTI/Golf R, I'll disown you.

I'd be getting a used one. Way too poor for a new car lo

Like, a new bodystyle used one with the 2.0T and manual? Then I approve!

There is a black one always parked by my house and I always thought it looked really nice. It's understated but smooth, I'm not sure what power it puts down but the interior looks very nice when I looked inside of it.
